House Movement

Not much. We got one offer, but it was way under asking and contingent on the sale of their home which was not on the market yet. We're having another open house this weekend. We're going to have to lower our asking price I think.

A string blues

so I finally broke down and bought new cello strings, good ones, Pirasto Obligato, the kind I've been wanting to try forEVER. I'm so disappointed with the A string though. It's too harsh. I'm going to have to get a Jargar A and its pissing me off because good strings are like $20 a pop. I guess I'll save the Obligato A in case I need an emergency replacement.

glub glub

Open house went real well, had more than 40 people go through. Realtor is optimistic and figures it won't be on market long.

Richard did a stupid thing that is real bad. He was filling the pool on saturday and before bed he turned the water off and disconnected the hose from the house, but he left the other end in the pool, which created a siphon, so the pool was draining against the house all saturday night and so we had water in the basement for the open house. not standing water, but soaked carpet. I was able to get enough of the water sucked out so that it didn't squish if people walked on it, but not good to have water in the basement when you're trying to sell a house. He felt real stupid about it, but what ya gonna do? I mean besides not do it again.

Sandy and i learned to make Pysanky (Ukrainian easter eggs) at church on Saturday morning. We had so much fun that i went out and bought supplies for us to make them at home. They are really beautiful.

A sign out front

I came home last night to a sign on the lawn. I guess he house is listed now. It isn't clean enough. Richard said he'd handle getting a cleaner in to do a good cleaning and then they'll come once a week to do the floors/bathrooms/kitchen. I've never been a really great housekeeper and this place is too big for me to keep up with. Not that its a pig sty, but its not "show my house" clean for sure.

Ian is failing Science and English and his grades are slipping in Math and French. I sent an email to his teachers asking them to set up a conference. Also told them there's stuff going on at home, without going into detail. I'm hoping I can convince them to do a little hand holding for Ian for the rest of the year. Also sent an email to the school counselor. Maybe he will talk with her. He's insistent that he's doing alright with the divorce and everything else, and maybe he is and the recent change in attitude has more to do with puberty, but he is completely apathetic about schoolwork and following the rules at home lately.

I'm feeling more than a little overwhelmed to be honest. Four more months....
