My sister-in-law is a smart ass

Har Har CAthy :-P

Ok, so there's this...

My boss/supervisor is in Mizura (Missouri) until June (maybe end of April now) and in theory she's "telecommuting". The reality is that I get to do her job AND mine for the most part. PLUS ok... I do all the data entry for the "Snake River Basin Adjudication" which loosely translated means "We Own the Fucking Water, Dude". Anyway, they've divided Idaho up into lots of littler "basins" and 3 of them are opening up for litigation while she's gone. It's "Documents Gone Wild" for Spring Break. More than 800 objections to the most recently opened Basin's Director's Report, (which loosely translated means, "the HELL you own my fucking water, Dude"). Every one of those objections needs to be copied, stapled, collated and Fed EXED to multiple and varied "Very Important and Busy People" so that they can promptly ignore them all until the morning of the deadline for filing a response to said objection. Not to mention the entry into databases of each and every single one of them. Bottom line is that my I'm spinning around so fast trying to keep up that my tits are gonna fall off - and well, that'd just be a damn shame.

My Space annoys me

So, I'll use this blog again ... maybe. Like I've got tons of time to blog around anyway

And now some sort of funny (to me) news - My girlfriend and I are raising rabbits (to eat them - tastes like chicken without bird flu). Well, we bought 3 does and 1 buck back in the Fall and they are old enough to do the wild thing now, so we put the buck in with a doe and he just sat there. His name is George, by the way - after my goofy brother. Anyway, we thought maybe he just didn't fancy Beyonce so in he went with Latifah. No love there either, in fact she went after him like he'd just slept with her best friend, which he didn't, as I said a moment ago. So, we rescued him from Latifah's scorn and tried him out with Kit. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Finally, I had this bright idea and checked George's equipment - we'd only just taken the word of the breeder we bought him from after all and she WAS a little near sighted. Well, sure enough - George is Georgina! Breeder Woman swapped him/her for a genuine male who is promised to be very interested in our 3 very sassy gal bunnies. Updates forthcoming... or not.

Duplicate blog... Deal.

R&R

This is my last weekend before the move that isn't crowded with a to-do list. I am taking advantage of it. Today is a day of beauty, although that would not be apparent if you saw me right now. I have a clay mask on my face and dye in my hair. I'm going to give myself a manicure and pedicure later. I have a chilled glass of my favorite pinot grigio and the sun is shining. ah, bliss.

Later Richard is going to Lori's for dinner and then a movie. I might drop the kids to see Star Wars, go home and watch Roman Holiday and eat chocolate. Perfect. I plan to play my cello until the Die Fledermaus waltz stanza no longer intimidates me.

I love weekends like this. They're especially nice because I have so few of them.

Life is Sweet.

Me! All on my own

I'm pre-approved for a mortgage! Unbelievable. Me, all on my own, without relying on anyone elses income. Amazing. Richard isn't even going to ruin it for me with his "wow, I'm surprised you got that interest rate. You must be having to pay points". No... I got a mortgage, no points at a decent interest rate. I am not a loser and am completely capable of taking care of myself and having my very own successes in life. All on my own, thank you.

planning

I have an appointment with Volt a week from Thursday for interview and skills testing. Andrea is a friend of one of the headhunters, Rebecca, and introduced me. She says she can get me a good position no problem, and temp work if I need it until then.

Talked with a realtor who referred me to a couple of lenders that specialize in new home buyers without fantastic credit. One with Wells Fargo and the other one with Countrywide. I'll call them tonight to see what I need to do to get pre-approved and if its even possible without a job lined up. I'll look at places with Patty, the realtor, while I'm out there next week. There are a few lease with options that I might consider if I can't get pre-approval.

I forgot I have AAA. I sent them an email and they will map out the drive to Boise, with stops at Best Westerns about every 8 hours.

Container is reserved for delivery June 24 and pick up June 27. Will have to stay in a hotel here June 27 and 28, unless the closing is first thing in the morning, in which case I'll leave on the 28th instead of the 29th. My first stop is Pittsburgh to see Dave and Susan Sparks, that's only about 6 hours.

Whew. It sure helps to see in typeface all the stuff I *have* dealt with. Puts into perspective the feeling that I have so much left to do. I'm fine and on track. Thank God.

offers

Got an offer on the house and we're through attorney review. Inspector came this week, but we haven't heard anything from the buyers. Maybe they don't have any "issues"... very unlikely I think, though.

I've ordered a container for the move. They'll drop it off on June 24th (Ed's graduation), pick it up on Monday, June 27th and take it to Boise. The kids and I will drive out leaving here on the 29th, probably arrive in Boise late on July 1. The shipper figures it'll only take a week before I have to take delivery of my stuff, so that's about July 6th. Everybody will be gone to Cali, so I guess I'll unload my shit myself. Richard isn't going to help load, so I guess we'll load the container ourselves too. Nothing I haven't done before. Hopefully I'll be able to find a place to live while I'm in Boise June 1-5. ... and a job. If I can't get pre-qualified for a home loan I'll rent a place while I find work and look for a house to buy. Might be a better idea anyway.

Anyway, .... away we go.
